Yes, but under a new name. Intuit is retiring QuickBooks Online Accountant on December 31, 2026 and replacing it with Intuit Accountant Suite, the firm platform that puts client QuickBooks files, team work, automations and books close in one console with AI built in. Here is what the vendor's site said in October 2026.

What the AI does

  • Intuit Intelligence chat (beta): a conversational assistant across client files; Intuit's AI brand is now Intuit Intelligence rather than Intuit Assist.
  • AI-powered task automations and Client Insights for the firm's book of clients.
  • AI-powered KPI tracking and anomaly detection on the Accelerate tier.
  • Agentic Books Close: listed as coming soon.

What it costs

  • Core: free.
  • Accelerate: $149/mo from January 20, 2027.

The suite works with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Advanced, Intuit Enterprise Suite, ProConnect, Lacerte and ProSeries, and Mailchimp.

  • QuickBooks Payroll, now branded QuickBooks Workforce: Payroll AI collects time and attendance, flags inconsistencies and texts the admin, on the Premium plan at $88/mo plus $13 an employee and above; Workforce Payroll starts at $50/mo plus $7 an employee.
  • Intuit ProConnect Tax: SmartReturn AI-assisted import, input and review, $93.46 per individual return plus $210/user/yr User Access.
  • Intuit Tax Advisor: tax plans built from ProConnect or Lacerte return data, at no additional cost with those products.
